Recipe | Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie


Today's recipe is one of my absolute favourite breakfast treats!

I say "breakfast treat" because this smoothie is not only delicious, it is also packed full of protein and other nutritious benefits guaranteed to keep you fuller longer than a standard bowl of cereal. One glass of this smoothie is packed full of calcium potassium and fibre too! 

Another added bonus of this smoothie is that it is so fast and simple to make! 


Prep: 5 minutes              Total Time: 5 minutes

1 1/2 cups of milk (any kind)
1 cup ice
1/4 cup / 2 heaped tbsp Peanut Butter
1 / 2 tbsp Honey 
1 large ripe banana, peeled and sliced
Whipped Cream / Chocolate Powder to top (optional)

Method:
1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.


2. Serve. (Whipped cream optional)

Tip:
Skip using ice and substitute it with frozen banana.
You could also add some yogurt and vanilla essence for a thicker smoothie.
Add flax seeds, chia seeds or protein powder for a great "post workout" shake.
